Before the project starts

• Identify all night, dawn, dusk and weather-affected periods.
• Check lighting at approaches, crossings and queue reference points.
• Agree an exception or escalation rule before analysis.

Practical approach

Evaluate visibility against the requested data fields. Volumes may remain observable where detailed body type, axle cues or active-travel direction does not.

Checks and limitations

Record source conditions and review selected difficult intervals with the project rule rather than silently treating them as normal.
